Make an Entrance

When a couple approached Godden Sudik Architects to design a custom home for their Greenwood Village lot, they wanted a contemporary, mountain-modern style and lots of light. The result was a home with dynamic angles, juxtaposing roof lines, and a beautiful mix of textures and materials. “They gave us a tremendous amount of liberty to play with forms,” says senior project manager Scott Roberts. “The home has great street presence.” The landscaping plays second-fiddle only to the large square steps leading to the front door. The sleek, dark siding and ceilings contrast the rich, rough texture of the imposing stone wall, while these design elements breach the interior. “There are dark wood elements, metal accents and lots of exposed steel inside,” Roberts says. “We like architecture to read inside out.”
