While many furniture showrooms present generic catalogue furniture vignettes, Colorado Style Home Furnishings takes a much more unique and creative approach for people shopping for furniture and home decor. It prides itself on curating an extensive selection of top-quality furnishings with a modern contemporary twist, unique luxury furniture pieces and some one-of-a-kind treasures. In turn, shoppers can create an eclectic look for their homes, giving the appearance of a collection of furnishings having been amassed over time.
“We’ve created a store where new furniture pieces and new collections arrive weekly so every time you visit, you’ll find something new to discover. It’s like a treasure hunt,” says co-owner Brent Simon.
The idea for this approach began with his family’s antique store in Southern California in the 1970s where they imported hand-selected pieces from all over Europe. After moving to Colorado in the early 90s, Colorado Style Home Furnishings opened its doors as a small neighborhood furniture store in Highlands Ranch. Today, the store has more than an acre of showroom space, and the owners continue to seek out exceptional home decor pieces while leading the way with current design trends and a constantly changing inventory.
Simon says this is what makes their store so special: “It’s modern contemporary meets traditional, meets transitional, meets mountain modern—and everything in between. We focus on a mix-n-match philosophy, where you can choose different pieces of furniture collections you truly love and put them together to create a look and feel of your own, creating a space that is a reflection of your individualized taste, style and personality.” To accomplish this, they work with the industry’s top manufacturers, expert finishers and the best designers while keeping up with the ever-changing design trends.
“We are very involved in the furniture industry and personally hand-pick every piece of furniture on our showroom floor. We have a passion for beautiful furniture and want to share that with our clients,” Simon says, referring his partnership with his mother and the team they’ve created. “We work with manufacturers to create new pieces and designs. We understand what our clients are looking for and work hard to curate an amazing selection of fine furniture options.”
This unique furniture store offers a welcoming neighborhood feel. “We want you to feel like you’re being invited into our home. We want our clients to take their time and explore the showroom and enjoy their shopping experience,” Simon says.
Colorado Style Home Furnishings celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2023 and the mother-son duo says they are proud of how the business has evolved and that they have loyal customers who have become friends over the years.
“We’ve helped clients furnish their homes and even update those homes over the last few decades, then furnish their mountain home, then come back with their friends or family to furnish their homes. Sometimes they just stop in and say hello or want to get some new design inspiration,” Simon says. “That’s really special to us—to find a true connection with people while making their homes beautiful and telling their story at the same time.”
