If you’d prefer to be spending your free time capturing Colorado’s beautiful scenery with artistically inclined brush strokes, then this intermediate/advanced six-week hands-on course is for you. Class time will focus on fundamental painting concepts and how those apply to landscape works in things like composition, color and texture. And, of course, plenty of painting time. Love Your Pet Day Virtual Race

Feb. 20 is Love Your Pet Day. To celebrate, Virtual Run Events is inviting anyone, anywhere to participate in this third annual race. You choose your distance—1 mile, 5K, 10K, half marathon or full marathon—and where and when you run. Then send your time to Virtual Run for a completion medal. Fifteen percent of entry costs, at least, benefit PetSmart Charities.

Denver Restaurant Week

For the 16th consecutive year, hundreds of metro Denver restaurants are making the dinner menu extremely easy to plan. Multicourse meals, crafted to emphasize what each eatery does best, are available for $25, $35 and $45. Make a note of striking wines: area wine and liquor stores are working with the event to have menu vintages in stock. Reservations highly recommended.

The quintet, part of the larger internationally celebrated Denver Brass ensemble, is taking things back to the beginning for brass instruments at this Music with a Mission show. The tribute explores the styles and places that make the best brass sound (think blues, gospel music, classic and jazz fusion and New York City). Have your “encore!” ready.
